Brats

Before King Diamond (the band, that is), before Mercyful Fate, we had… Brats. This bunch of punks started out in 1978 and released their one and only album, “1980”, in, well, 1980. At that time, Brats included the guitar duo of Hank Shermann and Michael Denner; a year later, King Diamond and Timi Hansen would briefly join the band before they eventually called it quits. All four would, as many know, quickly thereafter find themselves in a newly formed band called Mercyful Fate. Brats’ mix of punk and heavy metal left a serious mark on the Copenhagen scene, though, and the band is recognized as pioneers of this distinct sound. Today, Brats consists of members Yenz Leonhardt, Monroe and Michael Denner, and we are proud to proclaim that this will be their first show in nearly 45 years(!).
